WARRANTY, RETURNS AND AFTER-SALES SERVICE POLICY
Last updated: September 2026
This policy defines the conditions applicable to commercial warranties, returns, exchanges, refunds, and after-sales service requests concerning products marketed by HZ VOLANTS.
It specifically covers automotive steering wheels, sport steering wheels, carbon steering wheels, custom steering wheels, LED-equipped steering wheels, buttons, paddles, wiring harnesses, connectors, accessories, and other products offered for sale on the HZ VOLANTS website.
This policy applies subject to the mandatory legal provisions applicable to consumers.
No provision of this policy may have the purpose or effect of removing or limiting the rights legally enjoyed by the consumer.
1. BEFORE PLACING ANY ORDER
Automotive products marketed by HZ VOLANTS may present compatibility differences depending on:
- the vehicle model;
- the year;
- the generation;
- the trim level;
- the engine;
- the original equipment;
- the type of original steering wheel installed;
- the buttons present;
- the paddles;
- the sensors;
- the connectors;
- the wiring harnesses;
- the electronic equipment;
- or any other characteristic specific to the vehicle.
Mere resemblance between two vehicles or two steering wheels does not constitute sufficient proof of compatibility.
The customer must therefore check the information indicated on the product sheet before ordering.
In case of doubt, the customer must imperatively contact HZ VOLANTS before placing any order or, at a minimum, before installing the product.
2. COMPATIBILITY CHECK
The customer is responsible for providing accurate information regarding their vehicle when necessary for determining compatibility.
When the customer has specific information concerning their vehicle, they must communicate it to the after-sales service when necessary.
HZ VOLANTS particularly recommends checking:
- the exact model;
- the year;
- the generation;
- the trim level;
- the equipment;
- the buttons;
- the paddles;
- the sensors;
- the connectors;
- the electronic systems associated with the steering wheel.
In case of doubt, no installation should be carried out before obtaining the necessary information from the after-sales service.
3. INCOMPATIBLE PRODUCT OR MISSING COMPONENT
If the customer notices before installation that the product seems incompatible with their vehicle or that a sensor, connector, button, wiring harness, or other component appears to be missing, they must imperatively contact after-sales service before any installation or modification.
The customer must particularly not:
- cut a cable;
- modify a connector;
- disassemble a component;
- perform soldering;
- modify a wiring harness;
- adapt the product;
- install the product on the vehicle;
- perform electrical or mechanical modification.
The after-sales service can then check the situation and determine if:
- the product is actually incompatible;
- a component must be transferred from the original vehicle;
- an adapter is needed;
- an additional component is needed;
- a particular procedure must be followed;
- or if the product actually has an anomaly.
An apparent incompatibility therefore does not automatically constitute a product defect.
4. HZ VOLANTS COMMERCIAL WARRANTY
Unless otherwise indicated on the product sheet concerned, HZ VOLANTS grants a commercial warranty of six (6) months from the date of receipt of the product.
This commercial warranty covers product defects or malfunctions under the conditions set forth in this policy.
This commercial warranty is distinct from the legal warranties to which the consumer may be entitled.
The HZ VOLANTS commercial warranty does not constitute a guarantee against damage resulting from incorrect installation, modification, improper use, or external intervention.
5. PRODUCT INSTALLATION AND COMMERCIAL WARRANTY
Automotive steering wheels are technical products whose installation may require intervention on various vehicle components.
HZ VOLANTS strongly recommends that installation be carried out by a competent person or a professional with the necessary knowledge to work on the vehicle concerned.
The six (6) month commercial warranty does not cover malfunctions, damage, or deterioration resulting directly or indirectly from:
- incorrect installation;
- incorrect disassembly;
- incorrect connection;
- wiring error;
- electrical modification;
- mechanical modification;
- cutting;
- soldering;
- unforeseen adaptation;
- modification of the wiring harness;
- modification of the connectors;
- modification of the buttons;
- modification of the paddles;
- modification of components;
- intervention on the product;
- intervention carried out by a third party;
- use with an incompatible vehicle;
- non-compliant use;
- mishandling;
- overvoltage;
- short circuit;
- a problem originating from the vehicle;
- or any other external element to the product.
Any intervention on the product likely to be the cause of the observed malfunction may lead to the exclusion of the commercial warranty for the problem concerned.
However, product installation does not invalidate any legal warranties applicable to the consumer.
6. PRODUCT MODIFICATIONS
Modifications include, but are not limited to:
- cutting a cable;
- cutting a connector;
- modifying a wiring harness;
- adding wiring;
- performing a solder;
- drilling the product;
- disassembling components;
- replacing a component;
- modifying buttons;
- modifying paddles;
- modifying connections;
- modifying electronics;
- mechanically modifying the product;
- adding an element not supplied;
- removing an element;
- or any other unforeseen intervention on the product.
Any modification likely to have caused or aggravated a malfunction may lead to the exclusion of the commercial warranty for the problem concerned.
7. LEGAL RIGHT OF WITHDRAWAL
For distance sales concluded with a consumer, the latter has the legal right of withdrawal under the conditions provided by the Consumer Code.
The legal period is fourteen (14) days from receipt of the goods for a distance sale of goods.
The consumer can exercise this right without having to justify their decision, subject to the legal exceptions applicable to certain products or contracts.
HZ VOLANTS may also offer, when it wishes, a more favorable commercial period than the legal period.
When HZ VOLANTS grants an additional commercial period, the specific conditions of this offer may differ from the legal right of withdrawal.
8. EXERCISING THE RIGHT OF WITHDRAWAL
When the consumer wishes to exercise their legal right of withdrawal, they must inform HZ VOLANTS clearly and unambiguously within the applicable legal period.
HZ VOLANTS may request the information necessary to identify the order, including:
- order number;
- customer name;
- product reference;
- order date;
- optional reason for return;
- photographs or additional information when necessary for processing the request.
The customer must keep proof of their withdrawal request and product shipment.
9. PRODUCT RETURN
After informing HZ VOLANTS of their decision to withdraw, the consumer must return the product under the conditions and within the deadlines provided by the applicable regulations.
The customer must use sufficiently protective packaging to limit the risk of deterioration during transport.
The customer must keep proof of shipment until confirmation of return processing.
Direct return costs may be borne by the customer when regulations allow it and the customer has been properly informed before the sale is concluded.
10. PRODUCT INSTALLED BEFORE RETURN
HZ VOLANTS strongly recommends not to install the product before checking its compatibility and good condition.
When a product is installed, disassembled, connected, or used, it may undergo manipulations beyond those necessary to verify its nature, characteristics, and proper functioning.
In this case, a depreciation corresponding to the loss of value actually observed may be taken into account in accordance with the rules applicable to the right of withdrawal.
This depreciation may notably be linked to:
- traces of assembly;
- scratches;
- tool marks;
- traces of connection;
- damaged cables;
- deteriorated connectors;
- missing elements;
- soiling;
- modifications;
- cuts;
- soldering;
- disassembly;
- aesthetic deteriorations;
- or any other alteration truly diminishing the value of the product.
No automatic flat-rate percentage will be applied when regulations do not allow it.
Any depreciation will be assessed based on the actual condition of the returned product.
11. MANDATORY INSPECTION UPON RECEIPT
Any returned product may be subject to inspection upon receipt at the HZ VOLANTS warehouse.
This inspection may particularly cover:
- general condition;
- aesthetic condition;
- traces of installation;
- traces of disassembly;
- traces of use;
- connectors;
- cables;
- buttons;
- paddles;
- electronic components;
- any modifications;
- any cuts;
- any soldering;
- accessories;
- supplied elements;
- product identification;
- packaging condition;
- and product functionality when technically possible.
Physical receipt of the package alone does not constitute validation of the refund.
The refund will be processed in accordance with applicable rules after receipt of the product and, when necessary, after verification of its condition.
12. REFUND AFTER WITHDRAWAL
When a legal right of withdrawal is validly exercised, HZ VOLANTS refunds the amounts due in accordance with applicable regulations.
The refund notably includes amounts corresponding to standard delivery costs, within the limits provided by law.
Additional costs resulting from the customer's choice of a more expensive delivery method than the standard method are not necessarily refundable.
HZ VOLANTS may defer the refund until the product is recovered or until proof of shipment is received, in accordance with the conditions provided by law.
13. PRODUCT DEPRECIATION
When the product has been handled beyond what is necessary to verify its nature, characteristics, and proper functioning, HZ VOLANTS may take into account the depreciation resulting from these manipulations within the limits provided by regulations.
The depreciation must correspond to an actually observed loss of value.
It may notably be linked to:
- steering wheel installation;
- assembly marks;
- scratches;
- marks;
- cut cables;
- damaged connectors;
- missing parts;
- electronic modification;
- mechanical modification;
- solder marks;
- aesthetic deterioration;
- or any other modification diminishing the product's value.
14. 15-DAY COMMERCIAL RETURN
When HZ VOLANTS offers a commercial return period of fifteen (15) days, this period constitutes a commercial option complementing the consumer's legal rights when it is more favorable.
The specific conditions announced during the sale or in the offer concerned apply to this commercial return.
The legal right of withdrawal of fourteen days remains applicable independently of this commercial period when applicable.
15. RETURN FOR CHANGE OF MIND
When a return is made due to a simple change of mind within the framework of a commercial arrangement offered by HZ VOLANTS, the product must be returned in a condition allowing its examination and, when possible, its resale.
The product must particularly be:
- complete;
- clean;
- properly protected;
- accompanied by its accessories;
- without unauthorized modification;
- without cut cables;
- without deteriorated connectors;
- without abnormal deterioration.
When the product has undergone depreciation, this may be taken into account under legally applicable conditions.
16. MODIFIED OR DAMAGED PRODUCTS
A product that has been modified, cut, soldered, disassembled, or otherwise altered must be reported to after-sales service.
Modifications may prevent HZ VOLANTS from restoring the product to its original condition or determining the origin of a malfunction.
These modifications may notably have consequences on the commercial warranty and on the value of the returned product.
17. DEFECTIVE PRODUCT
In case of malfunction, the customer must contact after-sales service before any further repair, modification, or disassembly.
HZ VOLANTS may request:
- photographs;
- videos;
- product reference;
- vehicle information;
- installation information;
- connection information;
- or any other element necessary for diagnosis.
When possible, HZ VOLANTS may offer a remote solution to avoid an unnecessary return.
18. DIAGNOSIS BEFORE RETURN
A preliminary diagnosis may be requested before authorizing an after-sales service return.
This procedure can help identify whether the problem comes from:
- the product;
- the vehicle;
- an original component;
- the installation;
- the connection;
- an incompatibility;
- a modification;
- or another external cause.
When the problem can be resolved without returning the product, HZ VOLANTS may offer this solution.
19. PRODUCT WITH NO FAULT
When a product returned for malfunction is inspected and no fault attributable to the product is identified, HZ VOLANTS may request additional information to determine the origin of the problem.
The product may notably function normally when tested independently of the vehicle.
In this case, HZ VOLANTS may offer technical assistance or request additional information regarding installation.
Any applicable legal warranties naturally remain reserved.
20. THIRD-PARTY INTERVENTION
When installation or modification is carried out by a garage, mechanic, automotive electrician, installer, or other external party, the customer remains responsible for the choice of this professional.
Any external intervention likely to have caused the malfunction may lead to the exclusion of the commercial warranty for the problem concerned.
HZ VOLANTS may request information regarding the intervention performed to proceed with the diagnosis.
21. RETURN PACKAGING
The customer must take the necessary precautions to protect the product during its return transport.
It is recommended to:
- protect the steering wheel;
- protect the buttons;
- protect the paddles;
- protect the connectors;
- protect the cables;
- use sufficiently resistant packaging;
- keep proof of shipment;
- photograph the product before shipment when relevant.
Any damage occurring during return transport may be taken into account when examining the case if it results from insufficient packaging or inadequate product protection.
22. INCOMPLETE PRODUCTS
The returned product must, where applicable, include the items supplied at the time of delivery.
This may notably include:
- the steering wheel;
- the buttons;
- the paddles;
- the cables;
- the wiring harnesses;
- the adapters;
- the accessories;
- the mounting hardware;
- the instructions;
- and any other item supplied with the product.
When an item is missing, the actually observed loss of value may be taken into account within legally applicable limits.
23. SHIPPING DAMAGE
The customer is invited to check the apparent condition of the package upon receipt.
In case of a visibly damaged package, it is recommended to take photographs of the package and keep the packaging.
If the product appears to have suffered damage during transport, the customer must contact HZ VOLANTS as soon as possible with documentation of the problem.
It is recommended not to install a product showing apparent damage before contacting after-sales service.
24. UNAUTHORIZED RETURN
For after-sales service returns, HZ VOLANTS recommends that the customer contact after-sales service before any shipment to obtain the necessary instructions.
For a legal withdrawal request, the consumer must nevertheless be able to exercise their right under the conditions provided by law, without prior authorization constituting an additional condition for exercising this right.
This distinction allows differentiating the internal after-sales service procedure from the legal right of withdrawal.
25. RETURN COSTS
Under the statutory right of withdrawal, direct return costs may be borne by the consumer if the consumer has been informed of this in accordance with the applicable rules.
HZ VOLANTS may also cover all or part of the costs when legally required to do so or when it commercially decides to do so.
When a return is made due to a defect that is indeed the responsibility of HZ VOLANTS, the terms of cost coverage will be determined after analyzing the situation.
26. LEGAL GUARANTEES
This six-month commercial warranty does not replace the legal guarantees provided by French law.
When the customer acts as a consumer, they retain the rights resulting in particular from the legal guarantee of conformity and the legal guarantee against hidden defects, when their conditions of application are met.
No provision of this policy shall be interpreted as a waiver by the customer of their legal rights.
27. COMMERCIAL WARRANTY AND LEGAL GUARANTEES: DISTINCTION
The HZ VOLANTS commercial warranty constitutes an additional commercial commitment.
Exclusions relating to installation, modification, misuse, or third-party intervention concern the commercial warranty under the conditions provided therein.
They cannot have the effect of removing a legal guarantee when its legal conditions are met.
28. RESPONSIBILITY RELATED TO INSTALLATION
HZ VOLANTS cannot be held responsible for damages caused by incorrect installation, improper handling, vehicle modification, or external intervention, within the limits provided by law.
The customer is responsible for ensuring that the person carrying out the installation has the necessary skills.
In case of doubt, the installation must be suspended and after-sales service contacted.
29. AFTER-SALES SERVICE RETURN PROCEDURE
For any after-sales service request, the customer must provide when requested:
- order number;
- customer name;
- product reference;
- description of the problem;
- photographs;
- videos;
- vehicle information;
- installation information;
- connection information;
- and any other information useful for diagnosis.
HZ VOLANTS may request additional information when necessary.
30. INSPECTION AND DECISION AFTER RETURN
Once the product is received, HZ VOLANTS may carry out an inspection.
This inspection notably makes it possible to determine:
- the condition of the product;
- the origin of the malfunction;
- the possible existence of a modification;
- the existence of installation marks;
- the condition of cables and connectors;
- the presence of accessories;
- and the eventual depreciation value.
The decision regarding commercial coverage is made after analyzing the file and the product when its examination is necessary.
31. ABSENCE OF DEFECT ATTRIBUTABLE TO HZ VOLANTS
If the inspection reveals that the malfunction comes from incorrect installation, modification, a vehicle problem, incorrect connection, a third-party component, or another external cause to the product, the HZ VOLANTS commercial warranty may not apply to the problem concerned.
However, after-sales service may, where possible, offer a technical solution or assistance.
32. REFUND
When a refund is due, it is made in accordance with the applicable legal provisions and the HZ VOLANTS terms of sale.
Under the statutory right of withdrawal, the refund occurs according to the terms and deadlines provided by regulations.
HZ VOLANTS may defer the refund until the product is recovered or until proof of shipment is received under the conditions provided by law.
When depreciation legally attributable to the customer is found, it may be taken into account in the refunded amount.
33. NO AUTOMATIC PERCENTAGE WITHHOLDING
HZ VOLANTS does not automatically apply a flat withholding of 5%, 10%, 15% or any other percentage simply because a product is returned.
When a depreciation can legally be attributed to the customer, its amount is assessed according to the actual loss of value found.
This depreciation may notably take into account:
- aesthetic condition;
- assembly marks;
- damages;
- missing parts;
- modifications;
- cut cables;
- damaged connectors;
- or any other alteration actually affecting the value of the product.
34. IMPORTANT RECOMMENDATION BEFORE INSTALLATION
Before installing an HZ VOLANTS steering wheel, the customer must check:
1. The product reference.
2. Compatibility with their vehicle.
3. The vehicle model and year.
4. The presence of necessary equipment.
5. Buttons.
6. Paddles.
7. Sensors.
8. Connectors.
9. Harnesses.
10. Any necessary adapters.
In case of doubt, do not proceed with installation and contact HZ VOLANTS after-sales service.
35. ESSENTIAL RULE IN CASE OF A PROBLEM
If a customer encounters a problem with their product:
DO NOT:
- cut cables;
- modify connectors;
- disassemble the product;
- solder;
- adapt the product;
- perform an electrical modification;
- perform a mechanical modification;
- install the product on an incompatible vehicle.
CONTACT HZ VOLANTS AFTER-SALES SERVICE FIRST.
This procedure allows for proper diagnosis of the problem and prevents further intervention from complicating the case.
36. FINAL PROVISIONS
The purpose of this policy is to regulate warranty, return, refund, and after-sales service requests while allowing HZ VOLANTS to correctly identify the origin of encountered problems.
Automotive products require particular attention due to their technical nature and their interaction with vehicle electronic and mechanical systems.
The customer is therefore strongly advised to check product compatibility before any installation and to contact after-sales service in case of doubt.
Every request is examined individually according to the circumstances of the case, the condition of the product, and applicable legal provisions.
The consumer's legal guarantees remain applicable when their conditions are met.
